Hospitality and tourism by voivodeship

Entities in the REGON register in this industry in each of the 16 voivodeships. A list can be limited to any voivodeships or counties.

Source: Statistics Poland (GUS), quarterly information on entities in the REGON register, table 1, by voivodeship, as of 30 June 2026 (PKD 2007: I 55, I 56, N 79). Entities without an assigned voivodeship are not shown. Official statistics, not the number of records in our database.

What the Hospitality and tourism industry covers

The industry combines three PKD divisions: accommodation (55), food and beverage service (56) and tour operators and travel agents (79). The common denominator is the guest – someone who travels, eats and stays overnight.

Food service is by far the largest and the most changeable part. Venues open and close with the seasons, change their name under the same owner or their owner under the same name. A year-old list in this industry has noticeably more dead addresses than in manufacturing.

Accommodation is not just hotels. The code for tourist accommodation also covers guesthouses, short-let apartments and private rooms, often run by individuals.

Number of companies and contacts

The REGON register lists 153,553 entities in this industry across Poland (GUS, as of 30 June 2026); the breakdown by voivodeship is in the table below. That is the size of the market, not the number of our records. Our own database (196,499 companies, as of 17 September 2026) is one of our sources and covers voivodeships unevenly, so the number of records for your selection is available on request – database status.

Classification

Scope by PKD 2007 and PKD 2025

Accommodation and food service stayed in section I. Division 79 moved, together with the whole section of administrative services, from the letter N to the letter O. New in PKD 2025 are subclasses for intermediaries: 55.40.Z (intermediation in accommodation) and 56.40.Z (intermediation in food service).

I 55.10.Z → I 55.10.Z
Hotels and similar accommodation.
I 55.20.Z → I 55.20.Z
Holiday and other short-stay accommodation.
I 56.10.A → I 56.11.Z
Restaurants and other permanent food service outlets.
I 56.10.B → I 56.12.Z

I 56.21.Z, 56.29.Z → I 56.21.Z, 56.22.Z
Event catering and contract catering and other food service activities (canteens, institutional catering).
N 79.11.A, B, 79.12.Z → O 79.11.Z, 79.12.Z
Travel agents and tour operators.

Left code: PKD 2007, right: PKD 2025. Source: GUS, Polish Classification of Activities PKD 2025. The codes describe the scope of the industry – they are not a promise of a filter: today’s records mostly carry the source category, and a PKD code only where one is available. Whether you can select by a specific code is confirmed before you order. More: PKD 2025 and company lists.

The name over the door is not the company name

The restaurant “Pod Lipą” belongs to a company with a completely different name, or to an individual. Registers know the company; directories and maps know the sign. Our records come mainly from directories and maps, so they usually have the venue name and address, but not always the owner’s NIP. When ordering, tell us what matters to you: reaching the venue or invoicing the owner.

Chains and franchises complicate the picture further. Ten venues of one brand may be run by five different franchisees, and head office has yet another address.

In tourism, in turn, code 79.11 is used both by agencies with a high-street shop and by agents working from home. A tour operator needs an entry in the register kept by the voivodeship marshal and financial security – a harder criterion than the code.

Sample enquiry

We are a coffee roaster. We are looking for cafés and restaurants in Kraków in the Stare Miasto, Grzegórzki and Podgórze districts, with the venue address. We do not need hotels or caterers. We want to plan visits with samples. Please send the number of records and the price.

This is a model enquiry, not a completed order. If you give us PKD codes, we will tell you how far they can be applied to our data – today the records mostly carry the source category.

What the export does not include

  • type of cuisine, number of seats and opening hours
  • hotel category and number of rooms

Questions

Hospitality and tourism: questions about the export

Mostly venues. Data from directories and maps describes the sign and the venue address; the business’s NIP is included only where the source gives it. Before you order, we will tell you what share of the selected records has a NIP.

Yes, if the property advertises in a directory or appears on a map. These are mostly individuals, so the data is personal data. They can be excluded, leaving hotels only.

Faster than in other industries, which is why we do not promise that every record is current. For postal mailings, expect some returns and plan the campaign soon after you receive the file.

Commercial information may be sent by email or phone only with the recipient’s prior consent (Article 398 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law; the provision does not distinguish between consumers and businesses) – the export does not include such consent. The data is meant for postal mail, preparing visits, CRM enrichment and market analysis. Details: B2B telemarketing and email in Poland after the change.
